Back in 2004 when we first got together to start Kasterborous, I had a long email conversation with co-founder (and now popular illustrator) Anthony Dry (as we hadn’t yet met) discussing whether to have a forum on the website.
His view was “no”; mine was “yes”. As a result we started a forum, and found that the fledgling community brought us new friends, such as Brian Terranova and Tom Spychalski (to name but two). Over the years, we’ve spent a lot of time trying to maintain the forum, migrated to two different forum providers and generally kept things going, even during the quiet times.
However last year a bug in the forum software prevented updates. It also broke security in such a way that we had to block signups. Finding a solution to this was a long and drawn-out process, which brings us to today.
Following some intensive conversion work this week I can announce that the Kasterborous Doctor Who Forum is back!
For our long-term users, this news will come as a great relief. For the rest of you, particular those that regularly comment on our posts, you’ll be fascinated to learn that your Kasterborous account will afford you access to the Kasterborous Doctor Who Forum as well!
This is only the tip of the iceberg – we’ve got a lot more to do to bring the Kasterborous Doctor Who Forum back into the heart of the website over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes out on further updates…
…and in the meantime, start the conversation at www.kasterborous.com/kforum!
