Ben Browder’s a “good cowboy”, says Matt Smith

Remember that interview with Entertainment Weekly that Matt Smith gave a week or two ago? Well, it’s provided some interesting cast insights so we thought we’d take another quick look at it.

Ben Browder appears in Doctor Who Series 7Crossing from one famous sci-fi show to another is Stargate SG-1 actor actor Ben Browder, who will be playing a cowboy in the Western themed episode of Series 7.

Speaking on the subject of Browder (who will be playing a character called Isaac, presumably a cowboy), Smith said:

He’s great in it. He brings that sort of American naturalism which we Brits just don’t have, however hard we try. Yeah, he was great. He makes a good cowboy. He has that great drawl.

He also revealed that Adrian Scarborough (the radio announcer in The King’s Speech, Pete in Gavin And Stacey) was pretty good:

And the wonderful Adrian Scarborough is in that [according to IMDb, he plays a character called Kahler Jex], he just steals the whole episode. He’s fantastic.

Other cast members for A Town Called Mercy include Star Wars‘ Garrick Hagon and Andrew Brooke, and it will most likely be broadcast sometime near the end of September.

(With thanks to Entertainment Weekly for doing such a massive interview in the first place!)
