Yesterday we reminded you of the imperative nature of immediate action if you intend to catch Robots of Death, a stage-based adaptation of Chris Boucher’s 1977 Doctor Who serial The Robots of Death, set for performances at Manchester’s FAB Cafe from Sunday.
However, in our aim to drag out coverage of the event even further (following previous initial performances starring Paul Darrow as his Kaldor City character Kaston Iago in a radical, licensing-dodging rewrite) we omitted to reveal the names of the cast!
One might consider this an important detail, especially following the brave-yet-clever gender swapping that has taken place in the casting. Into the previous roles of the Doctor and Leela have been transposed Kaston Iago and Blayes, and while we’re told there is an interesting twist in this version, the other character names remain the same.
Iago – Marlon Solomon
Blayes – Kate Millest
Uvanov – Jessica Hallows
Toos – Leni Murphy
Poul – Gerard Thompson
Dask – Clara James
Borg – Miranda Benjamin
Kerril/Robots – Dan Thackeray
Voice of the Robots – Will Jude Hutchby
And to make up for it, we’re providing you with a gallery of images from rehearsal, courtesy of producer Gareth Kavanagh.
Reimagined as a live show and running from Sunday, July 22nd (three performances) until Tuesday 24th, tickets for Robots of Death are £8 and available now from Quaytickets.
