Smith: Eccleston Return Would Be “Amazing”

Today is the the day when Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill were reunited for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International event and as you might expect the questioning on the BBC America Doctor Who panel came down to two largely general topics: Series 7 and next year’s fiftieth anniversary.

Many fans have been chomping at the bit to see an adventure reunited past incarnations of the Time Lord, but thanks to age, attitude and availability the likelihood of this happening has been considered by most to be in the realms of fantasy, something that the series’ current star seems to agree with.

“I think as an event… to get David [Tennant] and Chris[topher Eccleston] back would be amazing. I think it would be very difficult to make happen… but I think that would be really special.”

And for all of us that missed it, The Doctor Who Media has recorded the event and uploaded it to YouTube!

I think they should just slip as many of the past Doctors as they can into heavily-made up cameo roles, just for laughs. Think of Peter Davison’s appearance in the Hitchhiker’s TV series and you’ll know what I mean.

As I said to someone on another site yesterday, while Dr Who has never been afraid to poke fun at itself, this idea would simply take the micky (NO pun intended !) way to far ! This should NOT happen in any way shape or form when there are far better ways to reference the show’s incredible past !

People tend to ask the same questions again and again at these do’s.

I get the impression I’ve heard it all somewhere before.

I don’t know what questions I would ask ( probably something far too controversial for this type of affair ) on the whole it does seem a little dull.

….and somebody call the fashion police to take Matt,Arthur and Karen away for questioning !!
They could have made more of an effort – honestly!!

    :)

I insist they should go back as far as the seventh incarnation, since Sylvester Mccoy can still pull the role, i would be delighted to see The Five Doctors, yet again it should at least be 4 includding Paul Mcgann

My only concern is the negative Christopher Eccleston gave when asked about returning, which hurts me since he was my first chronological Doctor
