The Doctor Who panel at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con charmed and entertained the audience whilst discussing the Fall of the Ponds (in episode 5) and answering questions, albeit not very clearly) about Series 7 in general.
Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill were one big reunited happy family as they sat upon the stage and enjoyed the brilliance that is an excited audience of Doctor Who fans.
Karen told members of the audience that she was very emotional after filming her final scenes as a member of the good ship TARDIS, in fact she was upset for quite a while:
“I cried for two weeks. Everything set me off…I couldn’t hold it together at all.”
Matt Smith was full of praise for his co-stars and the working relationship that they’ve built together since filming began way back in 2009:
“I miss these cats. It’s been three years on set. You develop a language with these people.”
Other important questions were asked as well, not important first questions mind you, but questions that can never be answered…for a few months. Questions such as “Will Rose be coming back?” (the short answer is maybe, if Moffat desires it to be so) to which Smith turned the answer around with:
“They tell us things very late. We tend not to know. But at the moment, we’re focused on the fall of the Ponds.”
River Song will also play an important part to all the central characters; apparently we don’t quite know everything about her yet!
Doctor Who will be returning to BBC One very, very soon and will have its first screening will take place at the London BFI on August 14th.
