Doctor Who Experience Reopens Next Week!

The Doctor Who Experience opens at its new Cardiff home!People of Cardiff, please attend carefully…well actually, anyone who’s interested in the exciting new launch of the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, please attend!

After moving from its home in Earl’s Court, London earlier this year, the Doctor Who Experience now has a new home in Porth Teigr in Cardiff bay and will be open to the general public from July 20th 2012. Not only is it the best Doctor Who exhibition/interactive event that has ever been created (we defy you to not get excited when standing next to a Cyberman or when you’re next to a TARDIS console) but it now has several new features that were not included in the London version.

The Doctor’s cot (A Good Man goes to War), a cyber conversion chamber (Closing Time), the Antibodies (Let’s Kill Hitler), the Minotaur (The God Complex) and a full size replica of the Silent’s spaceship (Day of the Moon) are to name a few!

If that’s not enough to lure you away from behind your comfy sofa then you may like to know that number of the Doctor’s nastiest enemies will be making an appearance on the 20th July to welcome visitors to the opening day. Daleks, Cybermen and Silents will be creeping around trying to cause trouble, so perhaps you want to pop down and give the Doctor some help!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!

I have my tickets, and shall be down in the Bay on Friday, for the first time since…well, since the Up Close exhibition closed, actually. Having not gone to the London Experience (partly due to cost, but also because I wanted to wait til it made it’s way to Cardiff), I really cannot wait!
