Following her appearances in Doctor Who as a kissogram who went on to be one of the more popular companions of recent years, Karen Gillan has been nominated for a “Style Icon” award at the Scottish Fashion Awards.
The award is the only one at the ceremony that can be voted for by the general public, so it’s interesting that Tessa Hartmann, the founder of the awards, said this:
This isn’t just about style – it’s about individuality, eccentricities and personality.
This writer happens to think she’s mostly right – as anyone who is remotely familiar with the habits of the public will know, this award will at least partly be a popularity contest. She’s up against Barrie James O’Neill, Tali Lennox (the daughter of Frankensteinian singer Annie Lennox), Iain De Caestecker and Louise Linton.
With that in mind, you can vote for her (or one of the others, but I guarantee most of you will only have heard of Gillan) by going to www.scottishfashionawards.com!
