Those of you following our coverage of Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover Assimilation2 (or “Assimilation With That Fancy Superscripted 2 To Indicate That Something Is Squared”, if you prefer longer titles) will be interested to know that the first issue has become the first single-issue comic on the iBooks store to have a simultaneous print release (it’s also at the top of the iBooks chart thanks to devoted fans of both shows).
This will also no doubt be of interest to all you “futurists, cyberphiles and other dateless wonders”, as Simpsons regular Mayor Quimby once said.
For those of you who aren’t following it, where have you been? The crossover, which is an ambitious one, is the first of its kind and features Cybermen and the Borg vs. the Doctor and the Ponds with the crew of the Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).
We’ll not spoil it for you, but the opening issue features a teasing setup which sees the two worlds collide in a devastating attack on a Federation installation.
The comic is available from the App Store for £2.99. The next two issues can also be pre-ordered from Forbidden Planet for £2.65. However, if you’d rather read the trade paperback of all the issues, it’s released on the 2nd of October, and you can pre-order it here.

Nice cover but what’s that with the noses? Are they all supposed to have colds or something?
