Recently, as some of you may know or as some of you may have been to in attendance, Doctor Who had an official convention. There was Steven Moffat, there was Matt Smith, There were the Ponds and a whole host of other special people that work around the clock to bring us the television show that we all love and admire.
The Independent newspaper was there (obviously) and has transcribed some of the conversation from one of the panels that featured the three stars and their boss (technically he’s the Executive Producer but what Moffat says goes, so there!).
Hints are dropped about the fiftieth anniversary, there are talks of who has had their name changed by deed poll to River Song, Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan discuss their final episodes and what it feels like to be leaving plus if there is any chance that they may return.
By a long, long length, the funniest exchange between the panellers is this little beauty between Arthur Darvill (AD) and Matt Smith (MS):
“AD: I’m a big Jon Pertwee fan anyway, kind of from this and Worzel Gummidge.
MS: He wasn’t Worzel Gummidge.
AD: He was.
MS: Was he? I did not know that! I used to love Worzel Gummidge. That’s Jon Pertwee- bloody hell! Oh my god, Worzel Gummidge was amazing! I remember that, wow, sorry, I digress.”
Mainly, the transcript gives you a good understanding as to what Gillan feels she has achieved during her time on the show and what she will miss when she goes. Will she be continuing to keep up with the adventures of the eleventh Doctor once she leaves?
