Wirrn Isle Preview

What’s new for March? A question posed by Big Finish every month on their website as they feed us with more beautiful tales from the universe of Doctor Who.

Colin Baker and Lisa Greenwood star in Wirrn Isle from Big FinishWell, this month’s main series release is Wirrn Isle starring Colin Baker as the Doctor and Lisa Greenwood as Flip Jackson, his newest friend.

“The year is 16127. Four decades have passed since the colonists of Nerva Beacon returned to repopulate the once-devastated planet Earth – and the chosen few are finding the business of survival tough.

Far beyond the sterile safety of sanitised Nerva City, transmat scientist Roger Buchman has brought his family to an island surrounded by what they once called Loch Lomond, hoping to re-establish the colony he was forced to abandon many years before.

But something else resides in the Loch. A pestilent alien infestation that the Doctor, beaming in from Nerva City, remembers only too well from his time aboard the Beacon…

The Wirrn are back. And they’re hungry.”

Written by William Gallagher and Directed by Nicholas Briggs, Wirrn Isle sees not only the return of the Wirrn but also the conclusion Flip’s first series arc aboard the TARDIS.

What will happen to her? Visit Big Finish to find out…

Wirrn Isle is available to purchase now from www.bigfinish.com on CD for £14.99 or via download for £12.99

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
