The coincidental year of Sophia Myles continued over the weekend when the actress revealed on Twitter that she is in Spain.
That’s right, in the very week that Doctor Who has been filming in the area known for shooting Spaghetti Western’s, Myles has flown to Malaga.
If you follow @kasterborousdw you might have spotted our retweet of one of her updates. Otherwise you might have seen it by following @SophiaMyles (obviously).

(We suspect that a lady of Ms Myles’ stature wouldn’t normally travel by EasyJet unless someone else was paying…)
You may recall that Sophia last appeared in Doctor Who 6 years ago as Madame de Pompadour in The Girl in the Fireplace.
Now you might point out that Malaga is some distance from the current locations being used for filming, and you would be right. However, we don’t know what else is in store for the location shoot. It would be a shame to travel all that way just to film in some dust, wouldn’t it?
After all, Sophie Myles has in the past few months been introduced to Twitter by Steven Moffat, chatted with DWM editor Tom Spilsbury about meeting up and is appearing at the Doctor Who Convention at the end of this month, an unusual appearance in that she isn’t (publicly, at least) currently involved in the show, unlike the other guests.
Whatever the story, if we don’t hear anything in the next few days the smart money is on something big going down at the con…

I’ve been following those Tweets this week, and hadn’t actually joined the dots to come up with that conclusion: an interesting and plausible link.
Astounded that The Girl in the Fireplace is now six years old, though – how time flies…
hmmmmmmmmm
This article should have been called ‘Air Myles’ arf arf
Perhaps next time
