Well, here’s an interesting new spin of Doctor Who Series 7 – the Doctor’s new companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, won’t be joining the TARDIS until the Christmas special!
Warning: we’re updating this page as new information is released.
Fans had previously understood that Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill would be leaving Doctor Who in the next few weeks, leaving several episodes for Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor to travel alone without Amy and Rory. Could this mean an extended run as companion for Alex Kingston’s River Song? Or does the Sophia Myles theory still hold water?
Only Steven Moffat knows for sure, but he’s too busy – and quite right too – talking about Jenna-Louise Coleman. The following quotes are via the official Doctor Who Twitter feed.

She’s going to have to be patient, however, as it seems that the Doctor has plenty of adventuring to do just yet.

Now here’s an interesting piece of scheduling information!

At last! We now know that Doctor Who Series 7 is indeed split across 2012 and 2013.

It isn’t only the Weeping Angels who are back, either…

Exciting news all-round – but what do you think?

Redesigned Daleks one hopes, with Davros in the thick of it …
Its all good!!!!!!! Very excited!!!!!
“Could this mean an extended run as companion for Alex Kingston’s River Song?”
Nope (assuming this bit hasn’t been updated yet!) – new companion takes over at ep 6, which is the christmas special, Roranicus Pondicus and the missus leaving at ep 5.
Also – hilarious as it is – you might want to fix the typo in the header of this article. My browser reads “Jew Doctor Who companion..”
Lets hope her introductory story at Christmas is better than some of the previous Christmas specials , which on the whole have been sadly lacking….
And as the Moff has said she will appear in episode 6 we can safely assume that she will there anytime before that…
Remember: The Moff Lies…………
On the header tab for the news story entitled New Companion Starts at Christmas it says “Jew Doctor Who Companion Jenna-Louise Coleman Joins TARDIS at Christmas”. I’m seriously offended by this remark, and why would it matter if someone is Jewish or not! I hope that this is an error and it was meant to read “New”instead of “Jew”
If you’re offended by a typo then I seriously recommend you go and seek psychiatric help right now.
Frankly, if you have nothing constructive to offer, then please don’t bother in future.
You know I’ve read all of the comments here, even the deleted one, and I have to say that this guy has a point! You should apologize for a error on your part.
Hi Krumstets
I’ve actually attempted to email the gentleman following his more recent comments (which I preferred to keep off the site – after all, it’s nothing to do with the topic) and discovered that his account is fake.
additionally, I’ve received a highly offensive email from him via my personal blog. frankly, he’s a crank, and while I may have been a little brusque, he doesn’t really have a point. anyone who claims to be offended by a misspelling needs help; if I hadn’t thought this after reading the original message, I certainly do after being on the receiving end of the hate-filled bile that landed in my inbox this evening.
