Doctor Who Heads to Spain!

It’s all go for Spain as fans spotted the jet set trio of Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvil making their way from Paddington Station to Madrid-Barajas airport – with a brief stop to pose for pictures for fan Javier Alonso Fontaneda – confirming that the series will be filming in there.

Up until now the only hint we’ve had of the Doctors trip to the Mediterranean has been via the agency website Sheppard-Fox who confirmed via their client Rob Cavazos CV that the show would be filming in Madrid.

However along with these fan images and a mention on the cover of the next issue of Doctor Who Magazine it looks like we’ll be seeing the TARDIS trio embarking a Spanish adventure (whether or not Spain will actually be portraying Spain in only its second appearance in the show, remains to be seen – just start praying that it won’t be another The Two Doctors.)

As for Matt, Karen, and Arthur (who, with their Siberian complexions, we hope packed sun screen) Javier can confirm that they were ‘Mejete’ with Matt in particular being very accommodating – introducing and photographing him both Karen and Arthur although characteristically, he also accidentally photographed his thumb.

The images have since appeared on Spanish Who site Planet Gallifrey.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
