Dicks and Letts: ‘A Great Working Relationship’

There’s nothing more satisfying than when a personal and professional relationship yields fantastic results.

When friends unite under the banner of mutual respect and integrity great things happen – like say The Daemons – often cited as the best Third Doctor serial and made great in part by the partnership of Script Editor Terrance Dicks and Producer Barry Letts.

In an exclusive first look at A Great Working Relationship – a segment taken from the Remembering Barry Letts documentary which accompanies the soon to be released DVD edition of The Daemons – Terrance Dicks charts the pairs unusual friendship and their admiration for each other throughout the making of The Daemons and there subsequent careers.

A new DVD release of The Dæmons is available to pre-order now from Amazon for just £12.99, and will be summoned into your DVD player by the Master on the 19th March.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
