Doctor Who Executive Producer Steven Moffat

Moffat Nominated for RTS Award

Doctor Who Executive Producer Steven MoffatHonouring excellence across the full gamut of TV genres the shortlist for the Royal Television Society Programme Awards have been announced with Steven Moffat receiving a nomination in the Writing category for Drama.

Moffat will be up against Peter Bowker for the sterling Eric & Ernie – the story of how Morecambe & Wise became the comedy legends we now know and love and Neil McKay for the slightly less amusing Appropriate Adult – the real life account of the role housewife Janet Leach played in uncovering the crimes of Fred and Rosemary West.

The awards, hosted by comedian and presenter Rob Brydon, take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 30th March have also awarded a nominations to the fifth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures in the Children’s Drama category.

Other former friends of Who who’ve received a nomination include the Master himself John Simm for Exile in the Actor category, James Corden in the Entertainment Performance category for A League of Their Own, and Russell Tovey in the Comedy Performance category for Him & Her.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
