McGann Subs for McCoy

Just as he did in 1996 Paul McGann is replacing Sylvester McCoy in a convention appearance on the final weekend in March.

The I-CON 31 event takes place over the weekend of Friday March 30th and Sunday, April 1st, 2012 and had the former Seventh Doctor among its impressive line-up of guests which also includes Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and, of course, Hal the archer in The Time Warrior) and Sarah Douglas (Superman II and the recent Doctor Who: The Adventure Games series on PC and Mac).

Due to a change in the schedule for shooting on The Hobbit, Sylvester has had to pull out of the event – but at least fans will be happy in the knowledge that the popular character actor will be missing the event for something truly worthwhile and memorable.

To make up for replacing one Doctor with another, Daphne Ashbrook (steady my beating heart) will also be in attendance.

Tickets are still on sale – head to iconsf.org for more details on the event!
