Get Your Eighth Doctor Maxi Bust!

Other than the Sheercast models from the early noughties there haven’t been many attempts to immortalise the Eighth Doctor in a collectable – so thank Titan Merchandise for rectifying this mistake with this the Doctor Who Masterpiece Collection Maxi Bust: 8th Doctor.

This beautifully crafted 8” bust boasts that it captures: “the every detail of his performance” – perhaps not every aspect of his performance, more the fastidious butler side of his character – chiding you every time you glance at it for missing an appointment you never knew you had. It won’t make you rich but it’ll certainly make you punctual.

Timekeeping aside, it’s a beautiful figure capturing both the Eighth Doctors Byronic look and McGann’s rather fetching wig.

As Doctor Who fans will know, Paul McGann starred in the 1996 BBC/Fox Network TV movie (and many subsequent Big Finish audio adventures) as perhaps the most individual and certainly the most outwardly-romantic incarnation of the Doctor!

The Eighth Doctor and his frockcoat, waistcoat, cravat & signature timepiece is brought to life in this intricately-detailed three-quarter length sculpt.

The Doctor Who Masterpiece Collection Maxi Bust 8th Doctor is available to pre-order now from Forbidden Planet for £49.99 for release on 24th August.

About the Author

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.

I actually meant gets his “due”. Just a bit overexcited, and this was NOT a reference to Pauls favorite wig. I’m getting two of these!

Sorry, but it doesn’t look like McGann at all. What were they thinking?

  4. avatar KevinCV says:

I disagree with farsighted99. I think it’s a good likeness of Paul McGann. I’d love to get myself one of these, as Eight is becoming one of my favorite Doctors. Especially since he took “Frankenstein” author Mary Shelley on as a travelling companion in the Big Finish audios. :)
