Nom Nom!

It’s that time of year again when magazines and organizations decide to shortlist their favourite things and offer them up for voting by the public or a panel of “experts”.

Yes, Kasterborites, the awards season is here!

We have news today of two separate nominations for our favourite Time Lord and some of his friends, the Virgin Media TV Awards and the National Television Awards.

With so many nominations one would hope that Doctor Who could prove successful, although you have to concede that the competition is pretty tough in both categories.

Virgin Media TV Awards

Doctor Who is nominated in the TV Show of the Year category as well as Best Sci-fi/Fantasy. Meanwhile, Doctor Who actors appear in other categories. In this case we’ll just list the relevant few as the Virgin Media TV Awards has 12 nominees per category…

You can vote for your favourites at www.virginmedia.com/tvradio/awards – note that although this is a prominent provider of services there doesn’t appear at this stage to be any physical awards or indeed a closing date…

National Television Awards 2012 Nominations

Meanwhile the NTAs have become the most prestigious awards in British television after the BAFTAs, and it is good to see not only Doctor Who represented but also Torchwood: Miracle Day.
