Down Under at the Proms
The mighty power of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the oncoming storm that is Ben Foster (who was the conductor for the BBC proms Doctor Who events in England) will be in full swing on Saturday February 4th 2012 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre as they blast out some of the best music from Doctor Who.
This promises to be a brilliant afternoon, full of music, monsters and mayhem. For anyone who saw the last few Doctor Who At The Proms events, you’ll know what to expect and just how exciting the show will be. Anyone over the pond who has not seen the music performed live…well, now’s the time to get your tickets and have a Doctor Who afternoon that you won’t soon forget!
Whilst it’s the very talented Murray Gold writes the music for the show, it’s actually Foster who conducts and orchestrates the pieces for Doctor Who, as well as composing the music for Torchwood, making him a top selling British artist.
Foster and Gold join a long line of artists who have worked on Doctor Who to bring their unique style to the show to create its iconic out-of-this-world sound and atmosphere. Tickets for the show start at a very reasonable price and you’re guaranteed to have one of the most memorable Doctor Who related days you could imagine.
