Daleks Control NASA!

It's the DALEKS! At NASA! Oh, hold on... are they engines?

Behold, the new Dalek Paradigm! Those metal menaces from Skaro have very busy it seems, not only have they built a new army of Daleks to torment the good Doctor but they’ve also managed to infiltrate Earth once again by working covertly with NASA.

Well, obviously not really but it sounds like a great plot for a Doctor Who story!

In reality, several engines from retired space shuttles are being reused to as part of SLS, which is being hailed as the most powerful rocket ever built. The engines caused a bit of a stir (in a good way) online, when many Internet-based NASA watchers thought what they were looking at was in fact the Doctor’s greatest enemy.

The engines do indeed have a spark of Dalek about them, fusing a paradigm machine with special weapons Dalek would probably be the best description although we’re open to suggestions.

Maybe it’s a funny case of life imitating art, maybe there’s a Doctor Who fan working at NASA thinking “finally, someone got my joke!” or maybe, just maybe, it’s all a massive coincidence.

Either way, it’s nice to see so many people still referencing the metal meanies after all these decades!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
