Is it nearly time for the Eleventh Doctor’s second Christmas outing? That sounds about right! By now, you’re most likely salivating (as we all are) as you count down the days until December 25th when The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe airs on BBC One and Doctor Who takes its rightful place as essential Christmas Day viewing.
Mr Matt Smith, who let’s face it, seems to get more and more excited about Doctor Who as the years go by, recently spoke about what we can all expect on the big day.
Apparently the Doctor is doing his best to cheer up a family that have been evacuated to the countryside during the blitz but only the Doctor could make things this wonderful and wacky:
“The Doctor, in a very ‘Doctory’ way, tries to bring Christmas spirit… “He has ‘Doctorified’ the house so to speak and there’s a magical present under the Christmas tree which is a portal to another world.”
But of course, things, as usual, don’t go quite to plan and there’s going to be plenty of scares ahead:
“There are two scary characters that live in a huge tower and move in a very strange and menacing way,”
So not only have we got the Doctor doing what he does best, trying to make children smile, we’re also going to have strange Steven Moffat monsters to contend with as well.
It’s going to be one hell of a Christmas adventure!
The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe will air on BBC One and BBC One HD on Christmas Day.
