Fourth Doctor on Radio 4 Extra

Tom Baker stars in Hornet's Nest, written by Paul MagrsIf you can’t wait until Christmas for some new Doctor Who and haven’t yet sampled the delights of the Fourth Doctor’s adventures with Mike Yates and Mrs Wibbsey, what could be better than tuning into Radio 4 Extra this week?

Back in 2009 Tom Baker returned to the role of the Fourth Doctor for the first time in almost 30 years to record Hornet’s Nest, a five-part serial with Richard Franklin as Captain Mike Yates (Retired) and Susan Jameson as Mrs Wibbsey. Such was the success that 12 months on a new serial, Demon Quest, was released and this year we’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a third series, Serpent Crest!

We’re fortunate enough that Radio 4 Extra will be broadcasting the first smashing serial, Hornet’s Nest in ten 30-minute episodes for the next two weeks in the run up to Christmas!

Announced a couple of weeks ago on writer Paul Magrs’ Facebook status, the episodes are being broadcast every night from Monday 12th December till the 23rd at 6pm and midnight.
