Doctor Who star Matt Smith appeared on BBC Breakfast news this morning as part of the promotion for the Series 6 DVD boxset – a later engagement would see him attending a branch of HMV with Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill.

The news that Matt is beginning filming a production block of 14 episodes from February which includes a series, a Christmas special and an anniversary special is great news, although the timing is a little confusing for us mere mortals.
Could it be that the Christmas special has been incorporated into the next run of episodes with the subsequent special brought forward to act as the anniversary event?
Well, we don’t know yet, but no doubt The Grand Moff will explain later…

So from February filming 14 more episodes. Matt Smith has said it takes 9 months to film a series..so will we not get any new series until November 2012? And this *Will be in production longer than ever* from Steven Moffat, will they film in 2013 for s8 airing in Autumn 2013?
