Auctions and Specials on Children in Need

One of Matt Smith’s famous tweed suits is up for auction as part of Children in Need, a sure-fire way of generating plenty of publicity and bids for the jacket, braces, bow tie and the rest of his outfit from The Doctor’s Wife!

In addition, the BBC’s annual fundraiser Once In A Lifetime auction features a signed script for the special sketch to be screened on Friday during the annual broadcast (images below).

Doctor Who star Matt said of the auction:

“I hope people donate generously for BBC Children In Need because it’s a wonderful cause – and we’ve got to beat last year’s total.”

You can find out more via the auction page at www.bbc.co.uk/Pudsey. If you’re so inclined, you will also find some interesting lots from other shows, such as the chance to meet the Gardeners’ World team (…) and visiting the Match Of The Day 2 studio. Remember that the auctions close on Monday, however!

This evening’s Children in Need event features plenty of Doctor Who content, meanwhile, with a clip from the Christmas adventure. We’ll be presenting that for you shortly, but before that the BBC have provided a few stills from the evening’s special Matt Smith-starring special sketch, scripted by Steven Moffat and recorded earlier this week.
