The Doctor Is In!
After the resounding success of bringing Karen Gillan to the London Film and Comic Con, the good Doctor himself is attending his first convention in the U.K! The good chaps at Talking Who have put out the word that their own Sean Harry (half of the team) is putting on his own convention called The 11th Hour.
Taking place at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham over three nights in mid-March (a bit out of my reach), it’s the first convention to be able to boast Matt Smith as a guest, which is a really powerful coup for the guys who run it. He will only be attending one of the days (dependent on what he’s doing at the time, so if he gets called away to film Series 7 or something else entirely, you’re out of luck), either Saturday the 17th or Sunday the 18th of March. So far, two other guests have been confirmed (with the same caveat of potential unavailability): Mark Sheppard and his father William Morgan Sheppard (both of whom appeared in The Impossible Astronaut as two versions of the same person), with the hope of more to come.
The ticket prices are available now (children under 7 go free, a 8-14 year old child ticket is £35 and an adult ticket is more than double that; neither ticket covers food or a place to stay) but it certainly looks like an interesting event to be going to, with a party held each night for the attendees and a chance to meet the Doctor himself (they just need to get the Legs and the Nose there to fill the Trifecta!)
