Monsters at School!

Just as the Eleventh Doctor started his tenure in a little English village, it seems that his enemies have had the same idea and decided to get away from the hustle and bustle of inner universe life.

Bottisham Community Primary School recently held a very unofficial but very fun Doctor Who event that included appearances from an Ood, a Cyberman, the TARDIS and a very imperial looking Dalek. The Dalek faced a gruelling question and answer session from the five hundred (and then some!) people who turned up on the day.

Graham Aldred, a parent at the school, works for the BBC prop department and was therefore able to acquire some of the goodies that kept everyone entertained throughout the day.

The day was a huge success and even though a certain former companion couldn’t attend, a lot of fun was still had by all:

“We had a Q&A with a Dalek, we had an Ood and a Santa Claus from the show as well as a Host and we did try to get Louise Jameson, who played Tom Baker’s companion Leela when he was Doctor Who, but she couldn’t make it.”

The event managed to raise a whopping £2000 for a special project for the children within the school, so a big well done to all who were involved!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
