Doctor Who Toys Everywhere!

Great news for Character and other Doctor Who toy licence holders – a survey by researchers Dubit has found that a massive 32% of children own toys based on the series!

Of 500 children surveyed, almost a third of them said that they owned toys based on the popular time travelling adventure series. It isn’t known which particular toy was the most popular as this question wasn’t included in the survey which had a much wider remit than just Doctor Who, but you can be sure that the Daleks were high on the list…

Various other fascinating figures spring forth from the report. For instance, the popular American cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants was top of the “awareness league” with a huge 94%, while Doctor Who was close behind with 90%. Spongebob was the second most popular toy behind Doctor Who, incidentally, with 29% of children surveyed owning a toy based on that show.

Children (and presumably their parents as well) were asked to score their favourite toy ranges, and Whovians will be pleased to see that the top-rated range was Doctor Who!

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era.
