You can now pre-order the complete sixth series of Doctor Who on DVD and Blu-ray from various online services – but is there something misleading going on with Play.com?
The box set features fantastic additional content included on the discs including cut down episodes of Doctor Who Confidential, specially filmed scenes and commentaries. There are also various special editions available, from the lenticular set offered by Amazon to the “exclusive” offered by Play…
…and Tescos.
Standard features are as follows:
• 5 x Night And The Doctor Additional Scenes
• 2 x Comic Relief Sketches
• Commentaries
• 4 x The Monster Files
• 4 x Prequels
• Trailers
• 14 x ‘Doctor Who Confidential’ Cut-Downs
• Doctor Who Confidential: A Nights’ Tale
The main features, of course, are the episodes, from A Christmas Carol through to The Wedding of River Song.
However, both the ubiquitous supermarket chain and Play.com are offering an “exclusive” Eleventh Doctor Micro Figure with the purchase of the box set. Whilst the exclusive figure looks a lot like one that was recently released for standalone purchase, we initially presumed that Play.com are calling the whole package an “exclusive” rather than the figure itself.
But how exclusive is it if Tescos have the same figure?
If you’re looking for a recommendation, forget the figure; instead, you can pre-order the Doctor Who Complete Series 6 box set for just £37.49 on Amazon for the DVD or £44.99 for the Blu-ray version
.
Update!
We’ve since heard that Play.com have updated their listing which should quell any future confusion.

An update,Play.com have revised their add after I spoke to Character.
