Tori Amos: Gaiman is My “Spiritual Brother”

It seems that Neil Gaiman has a very spiritual relationship with singer songwriter Tori Amos.

Amos describes Gaiman as her “spiritual brother” and has written several songs about him; he in turn has written stories for her.

But that’s not where the connection ends, it turns out that Amos’s daughter Natashya is also a big fan of Neil but that’s more because of his episode of Doctor Who this year, The Doctor’s Wife.

Not only is she a fan of the episode, she’s also a fan of the show-something confirmed by her mother:

“Natashya doesn’t miss an episode…she knows them all. She showed it to me and of course I thought it was great.”

But daughter Natashya also thinks that Gaiman should write an entire series of Doctor Who, just based on what he did with the TARDIS.

Now there is an interesting concept, Nail Gaiman as the Head Writer of Doctor Who. It would certainly see in some of the boldest episodes that the show had ever seen-maybe even bolder than Steven Moffat’s!

But let’s not jump the gun until we’ve all seen The Wedding of River Song.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!

Love her or hate her, you gotta admit, Tori has good taste in friends.

It’s so good to hear of celebrities who like DW. It’s just very re-assuring to the rest of us that we are not alone in our rallying to keep the show alive. We have some loud voices beside us.

In honor of this, i’m going to buy an Amos album on ITunes right now, and comment on her site. Way to be cool Tori!

Based on his script for The Doctor’s Wife I think Mr.Gaiman is an obvious choice for the role of show runner! Heck why even wait! Let’s get him into the chair for next year and save the show before it’s too late…

    • @John Why, what’s wrong with it?

I can’t say I’m a Moffat fan to be honest although the final episode wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
It’s still miles away from what Doctor Who should be…
