Russell T Davies is back on writing duties with the Torchwood: Miracle Day finale, The Blood Line, which airs in the UK on Thursday evening at 9 pm on BBC One.
With Jack and Gwen in Shanghai – with Oswald Danes in tow – and Esther and Rex at the exact opposite side of the planet in Buenos Aires, you can expect references to more new age conspiracies throughout the episode as our at-times inept heroes attempt to undo the Miracle and prevent civilization from falling further into the abyss.
The BBC offers just this solitary synopsis of the episode:
The Torchwood team travels across the world on a final, desperate mission – but the Three Families are unstoppable, unless a terrible sacrifice is made…
We can tell you that the episode gives as much as the entire series has so far in terms of dialogue, action, intrigue and most importantly, drama. As teases go, it isn’t much, but we really don’t want to spoil it for you. The series has been working up to this episode, and when all is said and done, the The Blood Line delivers in the end.
Okay, UK viewers: if you have been avoiding spoilers from the US fans and downloaders, coming next is the trailer for the Torchwood: Miracle Day finale:
Thanks to the BBC we’ve got a small selection of images showing Jack and Gwen in varous states of distress:

As conspiracies go, they don’t get much bigger than this… don’t miss the explosive finale!

Good episode, shame about the series. Did RTD write all of CofE? He certainly directed/guided the writing a lot more than for Miracle Day. Blooming committees in dramas only work when you haven’t got someone like RTD to show up most of the others. That said, the idea of the blood-controlling entity was rather a bit of a odd one that maybe was a bit difficult for others to write within. Still don’t have any idea why they had the camp storyline featuring for so long and the awfully wooden character. Shame they’re always killing off the Doctors on Torchwood, Vera could have been a great character. All in all an ok, but not incredible series. But then it was following after a very, very good series.
