National Television Awards 2012

The National Television Awards are coming up (again? Has it been that long already?) and this is your chance to get Doctor Who and the cast the awards that they deserve.

Doctor Who is up for an overall award within the drama section, up against shows such as Spooks, Merlin and Torchwood: Miracle Day. You’re faced with a tough decision there but soldier on and make your choice!

Under the Best Male Drama Performance you have a multitude of versatile actors including David Threlfall from Shameless, Idris Alba from Luther and David Morrissey (The Next Doctor) from South Riding. The only problem is that they’re up against Matt Smith as the Doctor and John Barrowman as Captain Jack. That’s enough to give anyone a run for their money!

For Best Female Drama Performance you’ve got some worthy choices including Freema Agyeman (former companion Martha Jones) from Law and Order UK, Julia Sawalha from Lark Rise to Candleford, Sarah Parish (Racnoss) from Monroe, Suranne Jones (our sexy TARDIS) from Scott and Bailey, Eve Myles from Torchwood and last but by no means least: Karen Gillan from Doctor Who.

This is the moment where you can make your vote count for the right people for the right award, so head over to the official National Television Awards website and cast your vote now!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
