More Awards for Doctor Who

Just when you thought the awards season was over, it’s back again, ready to see you into the holiday period with yet more gongs and statues for people honoured in their respective industries.

Last night it was the turn of the TV Choice Awards, where several Doctor Who-related tributes were awarded.

Most importantly, Doctor Who won best family drama, exactly as it should; meanwhile Kasterborous favourite Karen Gillan, was named best actress at a ceremony in London. We don’t think anyone who voted would have seen The Girl Who Waited but it is clearly an award that she deserves for that episode (and indeed for The God Complex…)

Also that once-ubiquitous Scotsman David Tennant was lucky enough to win yet another best actor award for his lead role in drama Single Father, in which he starred with the TARDIS herself, Suranne Jones.

And to top the evening off for the Whovian-minded, Sherlock was awarded the prize of best new drama!

All in all a successful night, so big congratulations to all the winners, particularly those from the Whoniverse!
