Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular!
The BBC has announced that they will be holding a very special, very one off event in the shape of a Doctor Who live show – the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular!
The musical celebration, performed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, will feature a whole host of live appearances from the Doctor’s very worst enemies including Daleks, Cybermen, Scarecrows, Clockwork Robots, Judoon and the Silence. Just be careful to keep one eye on a silent at all time or you may end up forgetting the whole show!
The orchestra, conducted by Ben Foster, will play music from the last two series of Doctor Who alongside a big screen presentation of key moments from the Doctor’s latest adventures. There will also be some specially produced sequences of Matt Smith, showcasing exactly why the Eleventh Doctor is so great.
Along with all of that, there are some special guests scheduled to be joining the audience but you’ll have to wait and see exactly who they will be! We in England are extremely jealous!
Taking place on February 4th 2012 at the Plenary Hall in Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition Centre, tickets will go on sale in October to the general public with prices starting at $49. However, subscribers that purchase a season pass from today will be able to add a single ticket purchase of the Doctor Who event with any package purchase.
An extra special pre sale offer will be made available to fans who visit the official Doctor Who Facebook site at 9am (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on 19th September 2011.
