Keeping it “Family Safe”

Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has declared that the show is not likely to ever overstep the mark in terms of content unsuitable for children.

Speaking to the Daily Mail recently, the Amy Pond actress confirmed that despite the fact that River Song’s existence is due to her being conceived on board the TARDIS, we are not about to see flashbacks of a steamy nature on the family show:

“It’s a family show. Perhaps there might be a DVD for the over-18s…you’re not going to see any of that funny flirty business in the Tardis [sic].”

This will come as a relief to readers of the Daily Mail, of course, a paper that previously caused a row over the “Amy snogs Doctor” scene at the end of Flesh and Stone in 2010.

Don’t miss Let’s Kill Hitler! on BBC One at 7.10 pm on Saturday, August 27th!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
