Karen’s Favourite Companion!

Anglophenia, the section of the BBC America website that deals with all television things British, has posted a video response from Karen Gillan gathered from questions by fans of Doctor Who via Facebook.

Matt Smith and Steven Moffat have also submitted responses but today Karen is up, with perhaps an obvious choice.

Facebook fan Paul Varga (surely he named himself after an Ice Warrior?) posed the question “which former companion most inspires Karen Gillan?”

Bless her cotton socks, her answer is succinct and to the point and includes a lot of praise for Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) and her relationship with the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) on screen. She gracefully skirts around the show’s previous 26 years’ worth of friends that the Doctor has accumulated!

Matt Smith went first a few days before, and in a touching clip stated that if he could choose one former companion to travel with from the Doctor’s past it would be Sarah Jane Smith, played by the late, great Elizabeth Sladen. How lucky we all are that we got to see that event actually happen last year!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
