Ready for Vworp 4?

If Teesside seems too far a journey on Saturday, howabout a trip to Manchester on Sunday? This weekend sees the fourth Vworp pubcon event taking place at the Lass O’Gowrie pub on Charles Street, where Doctor Who fans can gather and mingle with a surprisingly impressive guest list.

The main event for each of the guests, listed below, is to hear them speak about their time on Doctor Who, with a focus on their six favourite things. Along with Third Doctor-era companion Katy Manning (Jo Grant) the guests include Warrior’s Gate and Terminus writer Stephen Gallagher, K9 creator Bob Baker, who with Dave Martins wrote many classic adventures including The Three Doctors and The Hand of Fear, Paul Tams, who with Bob Baker has produced the new K9 TV series, and Seventh Doctor era script editor Andrew Cartmel and writer Ben Aaronovich (Remembrance of the Daleks, Battlefield).

Furthermore, don’t miss 1960s scripteditor Donald Tosh, story editor on Doctor Who from The Time Meddler to The Massacre of St. Bartholomew’s Eve!

In addition, Doctor Who Magazine is well represented with assistant editor Peter Ware, illustrators Adrian Salmon and Martin Geraghty, founder Dez Skinn and the whole event will be rounded off with an appearance by the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre!

Entrance is £19.95 for a full day within a warm and friendly pub atmosphere, and you can find the Lass O’Gowrie at:

Also in attendance will be Kasterborous designer Anthony Dry and editor Christian Cawley, so don’t forget to say hello!
