Oli Smith Moves On

Doctor Who writer Oli Smith – whose credits include novels Nuclear Time and System Wipe and the Nintendo Wii, DS and Apple iOS games Evacuation Earth, Return to Earth and The Mazes of Time – is set to begin a new role at games studio Mediatonic.

The successful young novelist and writer will be joining the studio as a creative writer and producer, something that he seems understandably pleased about…

“Mediatonic’s unique style and edgy sense of humour really defines its games and I’m looking forward to taking these qualities even further as the company expands its scope across a range of platforms and titles.”

“With such a talented team and creative atmosphere it’s a real thrill to be part of such an inspiring studio.”

Mediatonic’s director of games is Paul Croft:

“Compelling stories and humour are a big focus for us in the games we make and are core values of our creative philosophy. Oli is a fantastic writer and I’m delighted to have him join the team to further cement our reputation in this area.”

Oli has done a great job in coming from literally nowhere to providing scripts for a series of high profile products. We reckon he’s certainly one to look out for in the future, and wish him all the best in his new role!

But will be be returning to Doctor Who any time soon?
