Another year and another Comic Con is upon us. It seems like only yesterday we were watching David Tennant strut his funky stuff on the stage, gathering huge rounds of applause and giving subtle hints about the Tenth Doctor’s final adventures.
This time round, we had the weird and wonderful Matt Smith illuminating the stage with his quirky personality as he talked about Doctor Who and captivated the audience with his natural charm!
Matt was on a panel alongside stars of the fantasy television show True Blood (the one with vampires and werewolves and all that…what?…no, not Twilight!) and proved that even stars in a show as big as Doctor Who can get starstruck as he commented “I get to sit next to Pam and Lafayette!”.
Matt’s a True Blood fan?!
Receiving a huge number of questions from the audience, which Matt answered with his usual diligence, one such question that was asked was whether Captain Jack Harkness would return, to which the actor replied:
“John [Barrowman] is welcome to come back and strut his stuff.”
The Eleventh Doctor trying to keep Captain Jack in line? That’d be worth seeing.
When asked about the second half of series six, which is due to air later this year, Matt made some interesting comments to dwell on:
“Let’s Kill Hitler…is in fine form, and there’s a great monster, which is important… Going into the next part of the season, there’s some real good River stuff and some real good River/Doctor stuff.”
For all of you who are able to attend, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan alongside writer Toby Whithouse and executive producers Piers Wenger and Beth Wills will make up a panel for a Q and A session in Hall H.
