Fresh from this year’s ComicCon are a lovely batch of reveals and possible spoilers. For those of you that want to find out more, keep on reading. For those of you who want to find out as little as possible and do not in any way want to know anything about the future episodes of Doctor Who, then you might want to go to a different page on Kasterborous…
First up is Matt Smith’s desire to see a darker side to the Doctor. After nine hundred or so years of flying around the universe righting wrongs the Doctor obviously carries some emotional baggage with him, feelings of guilt that we’ve seen actualised before in the forms of the Valeyard and the Dream Lord. But how far can the Doctor take things before we see his less favourable side? And what would really tip him over the edge?
Karen Gillan certainly knows what we’re going to see on our screens very soon as she subtly yet slyly commented:
“I think in episode ten, we see some of The Doctor’s dark side…rule number one: The Doctor lies. That’s going to be explored.”
What on earth could the good Doctor have been lying about?
Matt also revealed that he hopes the Dream Lord will make a return to the show. Not just because of the brilliant character that was bought into being by Simon Nye but also because of the actor who played him, Toby Jones:
“He’s one of my favourite actors. I’d love to get him back, with a bigger army behind him.”
An army of Dream Lords all bending reality around the Doctor? There’s a way that we could see some past Doctors for the show’s fiftieth anniversary!
And maybe, just maybe, we’ll see a return of the Daleks in season “6b”. Piers Wenger hinted that they may come back this year by candidly answering the question of their return with the reply “spoilers”.
As we’ve already seen from the trailer, we’ve already got Cybermen, Weeping Angels and Silents. Daleks may just mean an even more explosive finish for an explosive years worth of Doctor Who!
