Not content with getting everyone exited about the new series of Torchwood that’s about to come out with an epic looking trailer, Russell T Davies has given some more details about the upcoming Torchwood: Web of Lies, an animated tie in series to be shown around the screening of each new Torchwood episode.
There will be ten animated shorts in total, each lasting about three minutes each. They are being co written by Jane Espenson, who has been responsible for some truly breathtaking moments in Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The animation will hopefully be realized as motion comics, a style they used to animate the Buffy comic Season Eight.
Speaking to Doctor Who Magazine, showrunner Davies said:
“John Barrowman and Eve Myles reprise their roles as Jack and Gwen, alongside special guest star Eliza Dushku, and co-starring Bob Harris. The adventures will run in weekly instalments, parallel with the event of Miracle Day.”
Dushku is best known for her role in Buffy and its spin off Angel as feisty and sometimes crazy vampire slayer Faith. She will be a great addition to the cast!
Meanwhile, we’re assuming that Bob Harris isn’t the whispered-voiced Old Grey Whistle Test presenter, but not totally clear on who he actually is. Any suggestions, people?

Too funny that all the Bob Harris acting credits on the IMDb seem to be for little-known actors making one or two appearances in things, and that’s it. This being Torchwood it could end up being the Bob Harris credited for the 2002 classic “BDSM: Alternative Loving”.
Gotta LOVE Eliza……….. I think she’ll be a great addition to the world of Torchwood.
