Based on the television adventure, The Chase is an audio telling of John Peel’s Target novelization, in which the First Doctor and his friends play a deadly game of chase with the Daleks as they go from planet to planet and from time zone to time zone in what is quite an epic adventure.
This is a classic adventure starring William Hartnell as the Doctor and Maureen O’Brien and Vicki, and also one which brought to a close the time of William Russell and Jacqueline Hill (Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright) as co-stars on the series, with Peter Purves joining the cast not once but twice, first as New York sight-seeing hick Morton Dill and again later on as Steven Taylor, the future space pilot who travelled with the Doctor (before leaving to pilot Blue Peter into the 1970s…).
Through a Space-Time Visualiser the Doctor and his companions are horrified to see an execution squad of Daleks about to leave Skaro on a mission to find the TARDIS and exterminate the time travellers. Eluding the Daleks on the barren planet Aridius the Doctor and his friends escape in the TARDIS. But this is only the beginning of an epic journey.
Excitingly, this will be not only narrated by Maureen O’ Brien but the Dalek voices will be provided by none other than Nicholas Briggs! Those that haven’t experienced The Chase may want to listen to it with a bit of a 21st century update!
Doctor Who: Daleks – The Chase is available from Amazon for £11.93.
