A Christmas Carol may have long since passed, but we can’t forget the great Kasterborous dream: for each of us to have our very own Katherine Jenkins to bring home with us!
That dream is now one step closer to reality with Forbidden Planet’s new life-size cardboard standup of Abigail Pettigrew (as played by Jenkins) from the most recent Doctor Who Christmas special! This Katherine cutout folds for easy storage so that you too can lock her up in a freezer, and take her out again whenever you’re in the mood for a shark sleigh ride! Or you can take a picture of yourself with Miss Jenkins and upload it to Facebook to prove to all your mates that you can find a really hot girlfriend, even if you are a geeky Doctor Who fan with a bit too many action figures!
Er… ‘scuse me…
Yes, sir? Yes. Sure. All right – hang on – WOT?! You want me to believe there’s more to Doctor Who than beautiful blonde opera singers? What sort of rubbish news site is this anyway? Well, if you insist. But I still want that raise!
Ahem… management wishes me to inform you that there are more important things to write about than one of the most gorgeous girls on the planet… so instead I’ll write about the other one of the most gorgeous girls on the planet.
It’s been a whole six days since the last episode of Doctor Who, but we can’t forget the great Kasterborous dream: for each of us to have our very own Karen Gillan to bring home with us!
That dream is now one step closer to reality with Forbidden Planet’s new life-size cardboard standup of Amy Pond (as played by Gillan) from the most recent Doctor Who Christmas special! This Karen cutout folds for easy storage so that you too can lock her up in the TARDIS and make her think her husband died wanting to kill her!
Copying and pasting with some word adjustments aside, Forbidden Planet is preparing to release about a million cardboard standees of various Doctor Who characters, notably including the aforementioned Abigail Pettigrew and Amy Pond (complete with policewoman outfit), the Eleventh Doctor (in the Stetson or wedding outfit varieties), and River Song as seen in her Utah attire from The Impossible Astronaut. In addition to those, keep an eye out for the Silence and the Ninth Doctor. Rory seems to not exist yet again as Forbidden Planet appears to have opted not to immortalize him in glorious two dimensions. All of these standees will be made available on June 16th, and you can save a fiver by pre-ordering at each character’s respective link for £24.99 (RRP £29.99).
Here’s the complete listing of every Forbidden Planet full-sized cardboard standee that exists or will exist, which includes Daleks, David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor, and even the TARDIS!
