Doctor Who News no image

War is Coming…

Okay people – if you haven’t seen The Almost People for whatever reason, do not click this link, do not pass go, do not collect one hundred credits of sentient money.

Move onto the next article unless you want to be seriously spoilered, else take your Doctor Who Series 6 experience into your own hands. We shall not be held responsible for the clips below, and their effect on you.

First up, someone has extracted data from the limited brain of a Judoon in the prequel clip to A Good Man Goes to War

Then, if you’re ready for it and can fully cope with the emotional demands, a trailer for the Doctor Who mid-season finale, in which we meet up once more with River Song as well as hope to find out who kidnapped Amy (obviously Madame Kovarian, played by Frances Barber, but who else is involved?), to what end, and just where her baby is.

Oh and how angry is Rory going to get?

To be honest, we’re not expecting any answers, but we’re curious about the role the Cybermen will be playing…

Well thanks a lot. We purposely turn off after the credits to avoid spoilerific trailers and you stick a pic of the Cybermen on the front page – whilst mentioning not to look at it if you want to avoid spoilers. Thanks a bunch.

Perhaps next time you could use a pic of Rory or Amy without anything spoilerish in it and link through to the spoliers instead?

    • Hi Fuser

The Cybermen image isn’t a spoiler. The BBC released it several weeks ago and earlier this week confirmed it was from Episode 7. We also used the image several weeks ago, as have various newspapers and magazines.

If this disrupted your enjoyment, then obviously we’re sorry about that, but we can’t pussy foot around pretending certain things are spoilers when they’re going to be appearing in trailers, etc.

Should this raise questions about what consitutes a spoiler, then fair enough, but it’s probably wise for you to stay away from the web completely if you don’t want to find out anything until broadcast.

I have to side with Christian. The bit about the Cybermen being involved was confirmed by the BBC in publicity weeks ago – before the new season even began. I agree the only way to remain completely unspoiled is to simply stay away from sites like this. And just think how us Canucks and Americans feel with the broadcast delay for these last 2 episodes (the fact I’m posting this indicates a certain fact about my activities over the past hour that shall be taken as read!). The involvement of certain other characters has also now been confirmed by the BBC via publicity images they have released which will be all over the place in the next few days. And some of this was actually spoiled by NBC’s Today Show 3 weeks ago as well.

I agree some sites need to be more careful in how they handle spoilers, but Kasterorous and Doctor Who News Page and most of the other ones I’ve seen are usually really good about it, and this post is no exception. And they were being careful even before Moffat collectively gave fandom a spanking the other week.

Hi fellas/ladies – fair points: I didn’t know it had been released by the beeb – and I visit this site regularly too!
Generally this site is really good about spoilers so I’m sorry if I came across as a bit harsh.

    Cheers

    • No problem fuser :)

@23Skidoo – some interesting points, I’d forgotten about the Today Show stuff…

I gotta say I never considered that as a plotline, but it doesn’t change my earlier belief that Amy might still be a Time Lord herself.

It seems clear that, without the antidiluvian empire running around protecting history from change, it’s all too easy for factions like The Church to adopt the insanity that so many others have tried before. Perhaps this will always be the result following Gallifrey’s destruction; that a group without the Laws of Time being enfroced on them, develops breathing room to create endless chaos in the universe, forming alliances with other races only until they’ve achieved their objective (like Faction Paradox before them).

I’m trying to come up with a way to take all the “hints and theories” that i read on the net before broadcasts of episodes and story arcs, then compairing them with the actual outcomes of the stories. Would be interesting to find out what happens right based on the “official” information that we get from the BBC.

Would be interesting,, such as at the end of Impossible Astronaut,,, create a questionaire (sp) that let people select who they thought was in the space suite, Who is River, etc etc etc. Take that data, compare with how it actually ends.

As a side note::: there’s someone on the K Forum, and on some of the other DW forum that i believe may have a serious “in” on the show. At least for last year any way. I noticed that a lot of what certain posters said actually came to pass (even though they said it so early in the season). There’s no way they could have known by the official press or even the rumor mill. Anybody else notice this, or am i just a conspiracy theorist?
