The Vinyl Ordeal

AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, REM, Queen, and now Doctor Who will be a part in National Record Store Day on April 16th!

The event set up to celebrate those back alley record stores and the cherished memories they hold for Jackdaw music fans also offers the chance for artists to release ultra rare tracks in fan friendly 7″ pressings.

Joining in the celebration will be Doctor Who with a 7″ EP of the two tracks from both Doctor Who films; 1965′s Dr. Who And The Daleks and 1966′s Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150

Featuring two cuts of twangy guitar tracks from the Malcolm Lockyear score Dr. Who And The Daleks, “Fanfare and Opening Titles” and “The Mountain” as well an exclusive mini adventure of Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 compiled especially for this release- featuring the voice of the cinematic Doctor, Hammer Horror legend Peter Cushing.

The CD version of the soundtrack was released in October 2009 and is available from Amazon for available from Amazon for £5.99. The full album is available on Spotify.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
