The Stones of Blood Audiobook

Doctor Who - The Stones of BloodA mysterious stone circle, alien beings guarding it, a mystery that is centuries old about to be uncovered by the Doctor and his friends. No, it’s not The Pandorica Opens but The Stones of Blood, the 1978 adventure that is getting a release courtesy of AudioGo!

Making up part of the Key to Time season starring Tom Baker, this audio release features the Fourth Doctor and Romana as they battle against Cessair of Diplos as she tries to avoid a long prison sentence.

This brand new novelisation features the vocal talent of Susan Engel who, alongside appearing in a number of television and theatre productions, also played Vivien Fay in the original televised version of this story. She’ll also be performing alongside John Leeson who makes a special return as K-9.

This story was cited by Russell T Davies in the 2004 Doctor Who Magazine publication The Complete Fourth Doctor as a particular favourite especially a certain scene in which two campers are killed by an Ogri, as it underlines how much the universe needs the Doctor.

This is a cracking adventure and this new reading of it is certain to provide hours of entertainment.

Available to pre order now from Amazon for just £9.94 and shipping from 5th May 2011, The Stones of Blood has as RRP of £13.25 so that’s a nice 25% saving!

About

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
