The Silence: “Terrifying”

With the new series of Doctor Who about to hit our screens, the BBC has released some interesting titbits about one of our favourite TARDIS crew members, Rory Pond, nee Williams.

It’s been an interesting journey for Rory as he’s become a core member of the Eleventh Doctor’s team and also died. Twice, technically. But things have changed and he’s now a lot more comfortable with his new and exciting life, as actor Arthur Darvill commented:

“His sense of adventure has awoken,” reveals Arthur. “But he hasn’t become arrogant in any way, he’s just more comfortable.”

And as the adventures continue for Rory, so do they for Arthur as he gets to experience new and exciting sets for the latest episodes:

“Going on a pirate ship was unbelievable; it felt like we were on a movie set.”

But despite all the fun both character and actor are having, there is an ominous and overhanging presence that the TARDIS crew are about to come face to face with, the terrifying and mysterious Silence:

“I think The Silence are really going to blow people’s socks off. They’re terrifying.”

Life is never easy aboard the TARDIS but it seems that things are about to get a whole lot worse…

Doctor Who will return to screens in the UK and America this Easter!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
