The Goof-off Complex
Entitled “On the Set,” this latest installment in BBC America’s series of Doctor Who behind-the-scenes promotional segments depicts Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill having the time of their lives doing anything in front of the camera except actually filming their scenes, with commentary from producers Beth Willis, Piers Wenger, Steven Moffat, Marcus Wilson, and others. Judging from the set’s hotel-like corridors, there’s a very high probability that the majority of the video below was recorded during production of Toby Whithouse’s episode The God Complex, which we won’t be seeing until autumn.
Frankly we can’t help but notice that Karen Gillan, like David Tennant before her, is a Scot who can pull off a fairly decent English accent, but not such a fantastic American one. No harm done though, because like fangirls watching the Tenth Doctor, the male Kasterborites among us still can’t get enough of her!
