Former Doctor David Tennant will feature in a series of stamps issued by the Royal Mail to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Tenth Doctor takes top billing on the 1st class stamp and can be see cradling poor Yorick’s bony remains from his acclaimed performance as the Prince of Denmark, Hamlet, in 2008.
Issued today the stamps contain both a defining image and a famous quote from a selection of highly regarded RSC productions such as Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellen with Francesca Annis when they played Romeo and Juliet in 1976.
The ten stamp set will also feature Sir Patrick Stewart, Dame Judi Dench, and the late Paul Scofield commemorating one of Shakespeare’s plays.
