Matt Demands Excellence!

What Matt Smith wants Matt Smith gets and what he wants is bigger, better, more awesome!

With the new series creeping closer to its air date of 23rd April Matt told Newsbeat that it had to be better than his debut run. With audiences up to speed on Matt’s take on the last of the Time Lords Matt refuses to rest on his laurels for this ‘game changing’ series, No sir.

He told Newsbeat:

“‘Obviously there was an inherent pressure last year with no one knowing what I was going to be like. I guess I’m a little more settled in now but it’s about all our hands on deck. It’s got to be better.”

And with all this dedication to the Who cause its a wonder anyone cracked a smile on set but apparently Matt hopes that the ‘brillant’ days on set transfer to the screen:

“It was always my aim to make this season better than last season and I hope that’s the case. I think the danger is if you sit back too much, it’s not as good.”

Hell have no fury like a Time Lord disappointed.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
