Just What is Going On?

You’ve got to hand it to the BBC and Steven Moffat – they really know how to keep a secret. We’re been trying to guess for weeks now which out of the TARDIS team of the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River would die as heralded by The Grand Moff and Doctor Who Magazine, knowing that even if we were right, we wouldn’t know the answer until Saturday evening.

A spoiler follows…

Which is why one of the images in the gallery below – made available by the official Doctor Who site – is just so damned curious. It appears to feature a blatant spoiler.

[nggallery id=57]

So in these images, just what is happening to the Doctor? Is he the one who dies? Or is this a teleport device of some sort? Does The Impossible Astronaut refer to the lake-dwelling spaceman who wanders out of the water to blast the Doctor into atoms, or is there much more to it? And just who is Mr Silence attacking?

We don’t know and neither do you, not until 6pm on BBC One this very evening!
